Die 91. Ausgabe der Oscarverleihung war eine kurze und knackige Veranstaltung gestern Nacht in Los Angeles. Ohne Host und große Show, legte die Academy voll und ganz den Fokus auf die einzelnen Kategorien und deren Preisträger. So dauerte die „Show“ auch nur knapp 3 Stunden und 15 Minuten.
Richtige Überraschungen gab es keine. Die meisten Oscars gewann das Freddy-Mercury-Biopic ‚Bohemian Rhapsody‘, neben Rami Malek als bester
Hauptdarsteller für den besten Schnitt, den besten Tonschnitt und die beste Tonmischung insgesamt vier Trophäen. Der Marvel-Film ‚Black Panther‘ konnte für beste Filmmusik, beste Kostüme und die beste Ausstattung insgesamt drei Oscars mit nach Wakanda nehmen. Den Oscar für den besten Film erhielt ‚Green Book‘, der insgesamt drei Auszeichnungen, u.a. bester Nebendarsteller für Mahershala Ali für sich beanspruchen konnte.
‚A Star is Born‘ – immerhin achtmal nominiert, musste sich am Ende mit nur einem Goldjungen zufriedengeben. Für den besten Song „Shallow“ aber für Lady Gaga und Bradley Cooper sicher kein unwichtiger.
Aus deutscher Sicht musste sich ‚Werk ohne Autor‘ von Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck gegen den großen Favoriten ‚Roma‘ geschlagen geben, ebenfalls wenig überraschend.
